‘Shakespeare’s Will’ is One More Reason to Visit Berkshire County, Massachusetts!
Brilliantly written by Vern Thiessen. Yet, again, another creative set design by Patrick Brennan. Gloriously performed in one act by one extraordinarily talented woman: Kristin Wold. A ‘MUST SEE’ at Shakespeare & Co. in Lenox, Massachusetts, now through August 24th at the Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre on the campus of theater company. By the end of this intimate look into the life and loves of William Shakespeare through the life and eyes of his wife, Anne Hathaway, and told in modern American English, you leave the theater feeling like a member of the family with the expectation that you’ll be invited for tea next weekend so you can catch up with Anne on how things are going now that “Bill” has passed away and his will has been read. Wold’s powerful performance filled with humor, stress, joy, tenderness, anger, rage, disappointment and sadness is shown through her character as well as her interpretation of everyone from Will, himself, to her father, Will’s sister, their children, and even the two servants who helped her raise the couple’s three children, all come to life through one actor’s skill which will engage you in the story and the process of crawling intimately into her life and those who encircled Shakespeare. Well done!
