Sabrams.com, Website of Travel Expert Radio Show Host Stephanie Abrams, Wins 2008 LACP Best Web Site Award
Boston, MA- October 28, 2008- The League of American Communications Professionals (LACP) has announced the winners of the 2008 Spotlight Achievement Awards which includes honoring the website www.sabrams.com with the Bronze Overall Award for Best Website, announced on October 26, 2008.
The site is the official website of Stephanie Abrams, nationally syndicated radio travel talk show host, featured weekly on Travel WITH Stephanie Abrams on the Business TalkRadio© Network and Traveling Feet and CEO of Abrams Hospitality Marketing. The site garnered 94 out of a possible 100 points, tailing the Platinum winner in the Best Website category, Hormel, by only 3 points, which is a $100 million+ company with over 10,000 employees.
Abrams believes that, “With this award, LACP has validated our accomplishments in building a graphically exciting oasis for the person interested in travel that is rich in content and easily navigated. While I have designated the mission of the site in keeping with my radio, television and webisode missions to bring travelers in touch with suppliers and destinations that will inspire, uplift, enhance and enrich their lives, all credit for the creative design and functionality of the site goes to Dru Abrams, Creative Director for sabrams.com, and his company, Persistent Visions. His unique understanding of what is necessary to make the website appealing, efficient, functional, and progressive, makes the process of leading our creative team to produce an award-winning website an exciting experience for all of us!”
Christine Kennedy, LACP Managing Director, commenting on the web site's rating this year states, “This year's entry, www.sabrams.com proves to be remarkable in light of tremendous competition. The first impression presented by this project is superb while the narrative and visual design are both excellent. We find the level of creativity exhibited to be superb, which is supported by superb message clarity. Our belief is that the target audience will find the level of relevance to be excellent, demonstrating the success of this project in connecting with the right people and delivering a highly applicable and persuasive message.”
Sabrams.com is the only travel-related website to win an award this year. Others recognized for excellence in other communications categories by LACP are such prestigious brand names as Adidas, Eastman Kodak, GE Energy, Intercontinental Hotel Group, Sony Electronics, Toyota, Americgroup, Bombardier, Coca Cola, Prudential Financial, and Yellow Pages Group.
“Clearly, we are in very good company,” Abrams notes. “And when you look at these other companies who have won awards for excellence in web site and other communications categories, and whose budgets are far outside our reach , it is amazing to see what can be produced when David thinks he is Goliath and performs that way! Sabrams.com's level of excellence is the result of focus on what travelers need to know, a staff packed with talent, the added energy and vision brought to us by Persistent Visions, our joint commitment to excellence, creativity, ingenuity, and drive at Abrams Hospitality Marketing. It is so exciting that sabrams.com is worthy of the accolades of LACP but, most importantly, worthy of the time of web visitors who frequent www.sabrams.com,” Abrams concludes.
Abrams notes that reading the judges' comments was an exhilarating experience. Judges' remarks included such comments as: “What a great website redesign! Excellent job in managing the evolutionary development of the website to suit the needs and tastes of the target audience.” Another commented, “Great visual design. . . quite alluring and very contemporary. Definitely delivers a memorable experience to the target audience.” “Very well done,” and “Terrific. A great departure from the conventional to attract and maintain interest with the target audience,” were highlights of the judges' commentary.
Christine Kennedy concurs. With more than 1,250 entries received from ten countries to be judged this year, she notes, “In summary, we congratulate the entire team involved with this year's work. We classify the www.sabrams.com entry as being among the top 155 of all communications materials judged by LACP this year.”
